Dr. Steven Epstein was born and raised in Baltimore. He graduated Summa Cum Laude from Union College in Schenectady, N.Y. and received his M.D. degree from the University of Maryland School of Medicine. He completed his internal medicine residency at the University of Maryland and his gastroenterology fellowship at Emory University in Atlanta, Ga. where he received training in diagnostic and interventional endoscopy as well as hepatology.

Dr. Epstein is a member of the American Gastroenterology Association, the American College of Gastroenterology and the American Society for Gastrointestinal Endoscopy. He is Board Certified in both Internal Medicine and Gastroenterology. His special interests include inflammatory bowel disease, gastro-intestinal cancers, and therapeutic endoscopy.
